Henri Drevon & Jean Desclair
Gendarmes and resistance fighters from the Ongrand maquis.
They were part of the ten gendarmes of the Sospel brigade who deserted on July 1, 1944 to join the FTP-MOI maquis of Peille-Ongrand. Henri Drevon and his companion Jean Desclair participated in the insurrectionary fighting for five days, between the Col des Banquettes and the Mont Agel cable car station.
Henri Drevon was fatally injured and died on August 20.
Jean Desclair will be seriously injured on August 20 and evacuated the next day by his comrades. He will die on August 25.
Their names appear on a plaque affixed to Cagnes-sur-Mer as on the war monument of Peille.
