TERROIR MUSEUM
Description
To preserve and share the village’s history, the Musée du Terroir de Peille lifts the lid on many ancient traditions and singular events that punctuated life in the old days.
The museum is the fruit of Louis Demay’s lifelong endeavours. He collected objects in cellars, car boot sales, or among thrown outitem, restoring old machines and gathering a collection of ancient tools that reveal how rough life was at the end of the 19th century.
Different themes are on display: school, leisure, household work, the tools used in the old days. An ancient vegetable garden has been reconstituted.
Specificity of the museum: all the items on display are named in the original language of Peille.
